Internet giant Google on tuesday beefed up its free Web-based email service by adding online video chat and voice chat as well as automatic translation of RSS feeds people commonly use to stay updated on blogs and news
Gmail users with Webcams can now talk to friends on video screens accessed directly through online mailbox pages by installing a small software plugin, which is available at http://gmail.com/video/videochat .

Gmail user can now make the video screens larger or smaller depending on the preferences.Users without webcams can still take the advantage of the service that allows Voice conversation top be vowen into email or instant messaging services.
The voice and video service, similar to that offered by ebay's skype, works on both Apple Pc's and Microsoft PC's too.
Google also modified Google Reader, a popular tool for setting up Really Simple Syndication(RSS) feed from favourite Websites, to feature automatic translation of content into user's chosen language.

  • Opening an AdSense account is easy, and, most importantly, free. You will be asked to input some information of yours (read Privacy Policy if interested). First, you’ll be asked to select account type. This is based upon whether you are an individual (most cases - freelancer), or you are a company with, or more than 20 employee.

  • If you are an individual with up to 19 persons, select individual account then. Furthermore, you will be able to select three different ways of payment - standard check delivery, EFT (electronic fund transfer) or Secured Express Delivery. I recommend selecting either of first two, since Secured Delivery is paid 25$ . How to register? Well, easily… Just visit http://www.google.com/adsense NB: Lastly, Google has been enforcing EFT as its primary way of payment as it is more “green” way to pay you, rather than printing checks (if you can imagine how many checks are printed in the world…). EFT is more reliable, and significantly faster than standard check delivery, but the only thing that’s not so good is the short list of countries in which the EFT is available.

Here’s the list of those countries:

  1. Australia Australian Dollar
  2. Austria Euro
  3. Belgium Euro
  4. Canada Canadian Dollar
  5. Czech Republic Koruna
  6. Denmark Krone
  7. Finland Euro
  8. France Euro
  9. Germany Euro
  10. Ireland Euro
  11. Israel Shekel
  12. Italy Euro
  13. Japan Yen
  14. Netherlands Euro
  15. New Zealand New Zealand Dollar
  16. Norway Krone
  17. Poland Zloty
  18. Portugal Euro
  19. Slovakia Koruna
  20. Spain Euro
  21. Sweden Krona
  22. Switzerland Franc
  23. Turkey Lira
  24. United States United States Dollar
  25. United Kingdom British Pound
Adsense keeps adding countries to this list. so, check the updated list on the site

  • Another advantage of EFT is that your money can always be tracked, so that you know whether it has been deposited on your bank account or not. Secured delivery If you select Secured Express delivery as a form of payment, know that your earnings are sent via DHL express service and that you should have your check in your hands within 5-10 days. Know also that you can also track your check by contacting local DHL branch in your country. Please be aware that due to the costs of the DHL secured express delivery an additional fee will be charged on your account

Your worst fear.

Did you know that 82% of web sites who had been banned from participation in AdSense program are banned because of invalid clicks?

This is your only concern - no matter whether you click on your ads or not, invalid clicks exist (especially in first case here).

No one actually knows how google detects invalid clicks (the whole AdSense algorithm is hidden to prevent - or to cause - industrial espionage), but it is most probably the multiple clicks that came from the same IP address. If one IP address clicks for example 10 times, those 10 times will, probably, be reckoned as invalid by Google. If you notice 25 clicks and 0.50$ earnings (already discussed in low earnings ), it probably means that google has detected invalid clicks. Rest assured that Google will do everything in order to separate invalid from valid clicks, but the tips are not to click on your own ads, and don’t ask others to click on your ads. If you notice multiple invalid clicks (example you had 25 clicks with high CTR - over 10%), you should mail google immediately, telling them the time, and some other related things about this unusual activity.
Accidental clicks

Although clicking on your own AdSense is strictly prohibited by Google’s Program Policy and Terms of Service, Google do understand that accidental clicks may occur. They encourage publishers to take precaution measures to avoid accidental clicks, as it increases the risk of getting banned from AdSense participation.

In a posting on AdSense’s official blog, Googe said that there’s no need of e-mailing them each time you notice invalid click activity (rumors say that it costs google more to read your e-mail than to charge the advertiser for that sum and return the money). Google uses both computer-based and human-based system to ensure best click-fraud detection.

However, even if you did mail out Google telling them about the invalid clicks you received, the response will not be “Hi, [your name], thanks, it’s OK”. It would then be easy for you to click several times and mail them out telling those were accidental or invalid clicks.

Q1 : I got 50 clicks and only 0.20$??? Why???

This is very common question, especially when we talk about AdSense beginners. It appears that those clicks were treated as invalid clicks by Google. Google’s AdWords publisher will NOT be charged for invalid click amount, and Google will NOT pay you for invalid click.

What is invalid click?

No one knows how Google detects invalid clicks. But, rumors say that, for example, multiple clicks that came from same IP address, e.g. 20 clicks from same IP - those are treated as invalid, because everything point to that publisher has asked, or has even clicked, on the ads for 20 times.

If you see that you had clicks that should earn more than you see on your stats, you should do two things: 1) E-mail Google and tell them that you’ve aware of invalid clicks, and that you are taking actions to prevent those and 2) Install application on your server that logs clicks and the IP addresses that those clicks came from.

That great application can be found HERE

Notice: AdLogger reports are not very accurate. That’s why this great application development has been put to a halt. The reports are based on JavaScript which detects for how long has visitor been hovering over you ad. Using advanced algorithm, it measures time of hovering over ad, as well as some other things (not important right now). So, it is not very accurate, but is certainly the best way to monitor your clicks. Also, it has option of blocking certain IP range, if you detect that many clicks came from one IP address. However, on the link above, there’s great alternative!

Q2 : Why I am earning only 0.05$ (or even less!) per click?

Also for beginners. This is about Google’s Smart Pricing Position

What is smart pricing? Well, to make it simple for you, it is about that the same ad costs different amount when displayed on different sites. Analogue, the publisher of one site will be paid less than the publisher of other site. Your Smart Pricing Position (SPP) is determined by many factors - for example, Page Rank plays important role.

Filtering LCPC (Low Cost-per-Click) Ads. I found out that, when I’ve filtered LCPC ads, my earnings boosted notely. As you may know, not all the advertisers are paying the same price for one click (this was not until Google Smart Pricing was introduced). There are some “scam” advertisers who are willing to pay only 0.10$ per click, and there are some who are paying more than 5$ per click. As you can’t be familiar with how much each advertiser pays, the excellent resource for finding LCPC and MFA (Made for AdSense) sites definitely is http://www.adsblacklist.com .

How do I “black-list” an ad? Go to your account and click on “AdSense setup tab”. Below, you should now be able to see “Competetive Ad Filter” button. Follow the instructions written on the screen (basically, it’s just about typing a domain).

Black listing an ad is very useful. I, personally, have boosted my earnings for about 40% by black listing some ads. Beware that if you black-list too many ads, you might get Public Service Ads, as Google will not be able to find you more relevant ads on your site. I suggest you dedicate an hour for blacklisting your ads, by using AdSense preview tool, and viewing the URLs of the sites. Tip: always black list the sites that have “clickbank.net” in the URL. In fact, I suggest you blacklist clickbank.net domain name. Then, by viewing the advertising sites, use your pure judgment - if you, when seeing a website, notice that it e.g. only has one page with “PayPal” link at the bottom or similar, that is probably low paying advertiser. Blacklist it, my suggestion.

Here’s a list of Google’s dos and donts (mostly donts):
https://www.google.com/adsense/policies

I will explain some of them myself, to make it easier for you to understand.

IMPORTANT: ALWAYS FOLLOW THESE POLICIES! DISOBEYING THEM WILL LEAD TO ACCOUNT BEING DISABLED! FOLLOW ALL THE RULES NOTED ON THE LINK ABOVE!!!

  • Code modification - paste your code EXACTLY as you got it from your account. Inside your account, you can play with various sizes, colors, types of ads, and you don’t have anything to do on the code. Just paste it.
  • Incentives - When you had placed your ads, you must leave them alone. No “CLICK HERE” , “you are supporting this site a lot by clicking on these links” or similar text is allowed. However, feel free to place text like “Sponsored links”, “Ads” or similar. Remember, visitor must click on an ad because he/she is interested in it.
  • Content - this is where Google is also picky. The advertisers don’t want their ads on gambiling or adult site. Also, strictly prohibited are so called MFA (Made For AdSense) sites, which have more ads then content.
  • Prohibited clicks - refer to section “Definition of Invalid Clicks”. There are people who create programs that click on ads, or who click on own ads themselves. Don’t do that. Don’t sink so much. Gaining huge revenue within the rules is easy!

These are some necessary steps that need to be done if you want your AdSense account to “survive”. I won’t mention those about clicking your own ads and making others to click - isn’t it obvious by now?

  1. High CTR - normal CTR is about 2-8%. Anything lower than that means that there’s plenty of room for imporvement on your ads! Keep reading. Anything higher than that (especially over 10%) might red-flag your account, and cause Google’s Engineers to pay closer attention on your account. And you do NOT want that.
  2. Location - perhaps you didn’t know, but Google is internet Giant. They have their own tracking systems that can track the IP to the smallest village of Congo
  3. Hit & run - hmmm, isn’t it obvious? I think, and Google thinks so too I beleive, that user won’t get on your page and click on ad? Instead, he/she will first closly look at its content, and than (maybe) click on an ad.
  4. Unexisting user - you think Google’s monitoring your account only. You are not right. Why would someone click only on your ad, and the not on the other ads on other sites?

This list is unofficial, because Google (will) never reveal tehniques it uses to detect invalid clicks.
